camp guidelines & details
Camp activities: Activities change weekly based on season and what I feel the pack needs most! Activities may include: hiking, biking, skiing, pulling sports (skijor, sledding, etc), horseback riding. Training maintenance activities at camp include: recall, leash work, place, crate, thresholds, passing by triggers, appropriate social skills during social time, etc. If there is ever an activity you want me to consider adding, please let me know!
Pick up/Drop-off time: Please try your best to be on time for your pickup / drop off time. If you are running late, please send a text to your camp group text to let us know as soon as possible.
Leashes and e-collars: At AM pickup, please have your dog on leash (unless we have agreed on an off leash pickup) & e-collar on. Please make sure e-collar and remote are charged and ready to go!
Healthy campers: If your dog is sick in ANY WAY, please do not bring them to camp. Our number one priority is to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy while at camp. If you are unsure if your dog is ok to come to camp, always feel free to text the group text or call us.
Cancellations: Camp is a weekly commitment, but if you need to cancel because of vacation, weather, you are sick or your dog is sick or any other emergency, zero stress and please let me know as soon as you can. 12 hour late cancel fee for reasons other than weather, sick or emergency, fee is $40. No show fee is $70
Payment: Camp payment will automatically be charged each week through your membership. If you have to miss camp that week (due to approved reasons), you will be refunded through Stripe.
Decompression time: When your dog gets home from camp, please please please put them in their crate (or place - but preferably crate) so they can have time to shut their brain off and decompress. If your dog is coming home from camp and full of energy, it is not from a lack of them being tired or fulfilled…it is because they are having a hard time turning their brain off in their own home which is very stressful for your dog. So please help them out and have some crate time to decompress. A true happy and fulfilled dog is one who can turn on for activity and turn off to relax!
Not a grooming day: We can promise that your dog will come home fulfilled and happy from a day of camp…but we cannot promise they will come home clean. All of our activities happen outside and involve your dog walking on dirt, snow or sometimes accidentally walking through mud (although we always try to avoid mud, sometimes it’s impossible during shoulder seasons).
If camp isn’t the best fit: If your dog is struggling at camp and our team believes that camp is no longer a good fit for your dog, we will bring this to your attention immediately and talk through best next steps. It is our goal that not only is your dog getting fulfillment, training maintenance and proper socialization at camp but also that we are maintaining a safe and harmonious pack. While most dogs can thrive and do well in a pack environment, some dogs would rather be hanging by themselves…and that is OK! We promise to always make sure that camp is the right fit for not only your dog but also the whole group.
